On March 31, 2023, Associate Professor Dr. Worawut Somsak, Vice President gave a welcome speech to the Tobacco-Free Higher Education Development Committee along with Mrs. Kobsuk Orachon, Head of the Division of Student Support and Development along with the Vice Dean and Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, students from WU Student Organization and fficers from the Division of Student Support and Development who have relevant duties attended the welcome.
Vice President reported the progress of tobacco products prevention of Walailak University. In addition, they visited the lecture buildings which is a non-smoking area as well as areas that are smoking areas provided by the university for students in order not to infringe on the rights or health of non-smokers.
And at 1:30 p.m., Associate Professor Dr. Worawut Somsak, Vice President presided over a special lecture on the development of the university to a smoke-free university along with announcing a policy to become a fully smoke-free university.
