DSSD organizes the 2nd WU Fun Run event, hoping to Promote Health Discipline with more than 2,000 students

October 29, 2022 Division of Student Support and Development (DSSD) organized the 2nd WU Happy Fun Run event with the objective of strengthening student discipline and taking care of health for first year students with over 2,000 students.

The 2nd WU Happy Fun Run started from 5:00 – 6:00 a.m. for students and staff to register. After that, the Tha Sala District Aerobics Club led stretching activities to relieve the muscles before running. Then, Associate Professor Dr. Worawut Somsak, acting vice president reports the objective of the event and at 6:30 a.m., Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University opens the 2nd WU Happy Fun Run in front of the Thai Buri Building. For this running route, there is a total distance of 4.9 kilometers, with the runner turning around at the WU Botanic Garden. After about 28 minutes, the first runners began to make their way towards the finish line. And around 8:00 am, all athletes reached the finish line safely and enjoyed breakfast together.

WU Happy Fun Run was organized according to the initiative of the President, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, the Acting President to use the sport activities to promote student discipline that can create fun and has a large number of students participating. WU Happy Fun Run is scheduled to be held every semester. And the next event is scheduled for the 3rd time in the 3rd semester around February 2023.
